Home automation alarm: security at the time of the connected house May 23rd, 2018   [viewed 33 times]

Soon the alarm will only be one device connected among others in our intelligent houses. Many manufacturers already offer protection systems in the form of complete solutions to manage all your connected objects. This is an opportunity for me to give a brief overview of these devices in full development.

Comfort and security in the smart home

Home automation alarm systems allow centralized control of equipment. They have a web interface and a smart phone application that make the various features of your installation accessible anywhere and anytime.

So far, the benefits of home automation alarms are similar to the functionalities of wireless alarms connected and controllable remotely.

The added value of home automation systems lies in the centralization of the system, which groups together all the electrical equipment in the house. It allows you to optimize and coordinate device management, create daily usage scenarios and interact with your facilities.

Home automation equipment, additional security

We also notice that some home improvements, connected to a home automation solution, contribute directly to the protection of the home:

Roller shutters: program the blinds or shutters to close at a preset time each day or activate the long distance wireless relay remote lock in the event of an alarm.

The garage door or the gate: manage the comings and goings by opening to a friend, the babysitter, the cleaning woman then close, wherever you are, from your smart phone or PC.

Connected door phones or intercom systems: control access to your home remotely. Coupled with an electronic lock, these systems allow you to see and talk to the person who comes to your home and open the door remotely.

Lighting: Simulate a presence and deter possible intrusions by providing for the activation of certain lights according to random rhythms.

With these home automation systems, the detection of an intrusion can even give rise to a specific scenario: alarm triggering, switching on the lights, closing the shutters, recording images from the security camera, firing a fog gun...

Obviously, the benefits are not only safe since this centralized management allows a global management of home equipment and better energy management.

Thus, you can connect your heating or air conditioning devices to a home automation box for optimized energy management. Depending on your daily rhythms you program your equipment for maximum comfort at the right time.

It is possible, for example, to increase the power of your heating in the morning when you wake up or in the evening just before coming home and to reduce the temperature at night or during the day when you are not there.

In summer, you'll appreciate being able to turn on the air conditioning just before leaving work!

The interest of a home automation alarm therefore also lies in the scalability of the radio control systems over time.
